While discussions and war of words by ministries of India and Pakistan have been on, Sean McCormak the US State Dept. Spokesman has now suggested that India and Pakistan should act together and go ahead with a joint probe on .

Each side has pieces of the puzzle that the other doesn’t. So its in their interest to act together.

It could be the WTF statement (suggestion) of the day. McCormak needs to be enlightened that the Pakistanis are not interested and have already denied chances of a joint investigation.

Read what the Bush administration has to say on the joint probe here.

Mahmud Ali Durrani, the National Security Adviser for Pakistan, was been sacked by the govt. (read the Prime Minister) for allegedly stating that Kasab had Pakistan connections. Guess what, the revelation was made public without the notice of the Prime Minister Gilani. Gilani later accused Durrani of tarnishing the nation’s image with his statements.

Is n’t it funny to watch the terrorist nation attempt to save its face and claim to be a peace loving nation?

Bomb blasts have become a regular affair in India this year—on six occasions in as many cities. The news of Delhi blasts have not even gone down and there is another terror attack. The latest blast took place in Malegaon (Maharashtra) killing four persons and injuring 70.  The list begins with the Terrorist attack on CRPF camp in Rampur on the 1st of January that claimed eight (of which seven were CRPF personnel) lives. After four months, they hit again and this time their target was the Pink City Jaipur. What followed these blasts were a series of bomb blasts and explosions across the country. The shocking part is that the Capital New Delhi has been the target second time in two weeks. What did the blasts result in? They claimed lives of 130 innocent people and injured 500; these are the official figures, the loss could be even more.

What do we listen from the Police, Home Minister or the Prime Minister? The police say “The investigation has begun; we will soon trace out the culprit.” while the Home Minister puts up a sorry face and makes some lousy idiotic statements. Our respected Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh says “We will continue to fight terrorism.” What good are those statements for? How long do we continue to face these brutal attacks? Barring a few arrests and a couple of encounters (in which extremists are reported to have been killed), there has not been much action taken by the govt. against terrorism. The saddest part is that most of these terrorists are told to be literate. The Supreme Court should bring out a new law stating “A criminal who is proved guilty of terror act should be gunned down once his involvement in the crime is proved.”

The is the list of blasts (2008) as reported by NDTV:

  • September 27, 2008 Blast in Delhi’s Mehrauli flower market killed 1 and injured 23
  • September 13, 2008 Serial blasts in Delhi killed at least 24 people and injured more than 100
  • July 26, 2008: Serial blasts in Ahmedabad killing at least 30 people and injuring more than 100
  • July 25, 2008: Nine explosions in Bangalore create terror killing two people and injuring twelve
  • May 2008: Eight serial blasts rock Jaipur in a span of 12 minutes leaving 65 dead and over 150 injured
  • January 2008: Terrorist attack on CRPF camp in Rampur kills 8

There was a time when life in Jammu & Kashmir was considered / told to be dangerous. Now, no city / town in the country is free from terrorism. The terrorists have spread their wings all over the country. We never know when and where terrorists might strike again. What can we, as citizens, do to save our country from those terrorists?
